I would first like to express that Christ is the head of the local church (Col. 1:18, Eph. 1:22).

He is to be supreme as the people are guided by the Spirit (Acts 4:31, Rom. 8:14). Though the pastor is the leader in the church, all members are subordinate to Christ. If Christ is first, then the church has a basis for unity, love and union (Col. 2:19, Eph. 5:23-32). 

We are called to God (Acts 15:14) from the world (2 Cor. 6:17-18), regenerated and partnered with believers in the local church (Acts 2:41-42; Heb. 10:25). Our unified purpose is to carry out Christ’s mission of discipleship (Mt. 28:18-20; 1 Tim. 3:15). We are to edify believers and endeavor to evangelize, baptize, educate and add to the Body of Christ, through the Holy Spirit.

The primary role of the pastor is to equip the saints to full maturity. He does this through preaching (1 Cor. 14:3, 2 Tim 4:2, 1 Pet. 2:5) and teaching (Acts 2:42; 5:42) in the church, which is the pillar of truth (1 Tim. 3:15). Further, he is to be a servant/slave (1 Pet. 2:16; 5:3) and a faithful steward (1 Cor. 4:2; 1 Pet. 4:10; Titus 1:7).

My specific ministry objectives are those that would be closely tied to Scripture. I am not a pastor that relies on marketing trends or schemes.  I prefer right growth being characterized by remaining fruit in believer’s lives (Jn. 15:16) over numerical growth with no fruit.  I earnestly desire for God’s people to know their Bible.
